Congratulations to our graduate student Sakshi Sahakari for successfully defending her MA thesis on June 18th! Sakshi’s thesis explored regional differences in cultural tightness (i.e., the strictness of social norms and the stringency with which they are enforced), as well as their ecological and socio-historical antecedents and societal implications across 31 states and union territories across India. She hopes to carry forward this research into her PhD to explore nuances in this cultural dimension and continue exploring regional differences in underexplored regions!
This significant achievement is a testament to her hard work, dedication, and intellectual rigor. We are incredibly proud of Sakshi and excited to see the impact of her research in her field. Well done, Sakshi!
