Welcome to the Personality and Geographical Ambiance (PANGEA) Lab!
At the PANGEA Lab, we study the many ways in which humans and their environments shape each other and what these person–environment–interactions mean for individuals and the places they live in.
Our Philosophy
We are united in diversity and the firm belief that the different views, experiences, and approaches that each of us brings to the lab are what brings us together as humans and what empowers us to do the best, most innovative, relevant, and mindful research that we can do. It is in this spirit, that we strive to create an inclusive, collaborative, and safe space that welcomes people from all backgrounds and offers equal opportunities for everyone without diminishing individual uniqueness.
Our Place
With the relationships between people and places at the heart of our research, it is of special importance to us to acknowledge that the PANGEA Lab is located on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territory of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam) people. We are grateful that we get to work, live, and play on these lands and treat their history as a starting point for continuous learning and a potent reminder of our mission to better understand how people and places interact with each other – and to use that knowledge to improve the lives of individuals and communities.
